“The Insurance and Financial Services Committee covers a number of complex issues that affect everyday Mainers, so it is helpful to have someone with so much knowledge and experience at the helm,” said Senate President Michael Thibodeau (R-Waldo).  “Senator Whittemore has proven time and again that he has what it takes to succeed as chair of this important committee, I am confident that he will continue to be a superb leader.”

Assistant Senate Majority Leader Andre Cushing (R-Penobscot) also praised Senator Whittemore’s appointment, saying, “As the founder and owner of a successful business in Somerset County, Senator Whittemore truly understands how insurance costs, licensing costs and other demands can impact the bottom line of employers in Maine.  For that reason, Senator Whittemore has the knowledge and experience necessary to guide this important committee.”
