Senator Dana Dow Announces Local Projects Included in Maine DOT Work Plan
Augusta – Senator Dana Dow (R-Lincoln) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,411 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes everything from capital projects and programs to maintenance, operations projects and other activities.
The projects and activities listed for Calendar Year 2017 are more firmly funded and have definite schedules, while listings for 2018 and 2019 are more subject to change based on funding and prices, permitting variables and seasonal weather conditions. There are over 1,200 projects scheduled for 2017.
Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 13 include improvements to Route 218 in Alna, Whitefield and Wiscasset; Sheepscot Road in Alna and Newcastle; Route 27 in Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor, Barters Island Road in Boothbay; Route 1 and Route 129 in Damariscotta; and Route 1, Route 32, Route 220 and Cross Street in Waldoboro.
“The fact that the Department of Transportation has chosen to invest so heavily on infrastructure and maintenance within Senate District 16 is encouraging,” said Sen. Dow. “Transportation investments provide a boost to the economy and ensure mobility and reliability within the area.”
