Senator David Woodsome Announces Local Projects in Maine DOT Work Plan

Augusta – Senator David Woodsome (R-York) has announced local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,411 projects across the state.

The Work Plan includes everything from capital projects and programs to maintenance, operations projects and other activities.

The projects and activities listed for Calendar Year 2017 are more firmly funded and have definite schedules, while listings for 2018 and 2019 are more subject to change based on funding and prices, permitting variables and seasonal weather conditions. There are more than 1,200 projects scheduled for 2017.

Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 33 include improvements to Route 5 in Cornish, Route 160 in Limerick, safety upgrades at Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport and culvert replacement on the West Road in Waterboro.”

“I believe that maintaining our infrastructure is one of the most important functions of state government,” Senator Woodsome said. “I would like to thank the Department of Transportation for prioritizing these projects that are vital to our safety and our economic success in York County.”
