Senator Eric Brakey Announces Local Projects Included in Maine DOT Work Plan
Augusta – Senator Eric Brakey (R-Androscoggin) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,411 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes everything from capital projects and programs to maintenance, operations projects and other activities.
The projects and activities listed for Calendar Year 2017 are more firmly funded and have definite schedules, while listings for 2018 and 2019 are more subject to change based on funding and prices, permitting variables and seasonal weather conditions. There are over 1,200 projects scheduled for 2017.
Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 20 include improvements to Route 11, Route 136 and Route 4 in Auburn; Route 11 in Poland and Route 202 in New Glouster.
“Our transportation infrastructure is vital to Mainers’ safety and our economy, and the DOT is to be commended for their hard work to ensure it stays in good shape,” said Sen. Brakey.
The full work plan, including an interactive plan that is searchable by municipality, can be accessed on the Maine Department of Transportation’s website at: http://www.maine.gov/mdot.
