Augusta – Senator Garrett Mason (R-Androscoggin) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,411 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes everything from capital projects and programs to maintenance, operations projects and other activities.
The projects and activities listed for Calendar Year 2017 are more firmly funded and have definite schedules, while listings for 2018 and 2019 are more subject to change based on funding and prices, permitting variables and seasonal weather conditions. There are over 1,200 projects scheduled for 2017.
Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 22 include improvements to Route 9, Route 125, Route 196 and Mill Street in Lisbon; Route 9, Route 126, Route 132 and High Street in Sabattus; and Route 4, Route 117, Route 219 and Mill Hill Road in Turner.
“Maintaining our infrastructure is one of the most important functions of state government,” Sen. Mason said. “I would like to thank the Department of Transportation for prioritizing these projects that are vital to our safety and our economic success in Androscoggin County.”
