Senator Scott Cyrway Announces Local Projects Included in Maine DOT Work Plan
Augusta – Senator Scott Cyrway (R-Kennebec) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,411 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes everything from capital projects and programs to maintenance, operations projects and other activities.
The projects and activities listed for Calendar Year 2017 are more firmly funded and have definite schedules, while listings for 2018 and 2019 are more subject to change based on funding and prices, permitting variables and seasonal weather conditions. There are over 1,200 projects scheduled for 2017.
Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 16 include improvements to Route 104, Interstate 95 and Gilman Street in Waterville; Route 104 in Fairfield; Albion Road, Benton Road and Winslow Road in Albion; Route 44, Route 139 and the Neck road in Benton; and Route 11, Hill Road and River Road in Clinton.
“It’s encouraging to hear that the Department of Transportation has so many projects planned for within Senate District 16,” said Sen. Cyrway. “Sound infrastructure is important to our community’s safety and our economy.”
