AUGUSTA – Senate President Michael Thibodeau (R-Waldo) has appointed Senator Joyce Maker (R-Washington) to serve on the Board of Directors for Maine Children’s Trust.

Created by the Legislature in 1985, Maine Children’s Trust is a 501 (c) 3 organization with a mission to prevent the abuse and neglect of children in Maine through programs and grants around the state.

Maine Senate President Michael Thibodeau (R-Waldo) said, “I cannot think of a better choice for this board. Throughout her legislative career, Joyce Maker has been a tireless advocate for Maine’s children, and I am certain her experience will be a tremendous asset to the board’s efforts to end child abuse in Maine.”

“It’s an honor to have been selected to serve on the board of this important organization alongside so many bright and talented individuals,” said Sen. Maker. “I look forward to the work, as the mission is so very important.”
