FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUGUSTA- Senate President Michael Thibodeau (R-Waldo) has appointed Senator Lisa Keim (R-Oxford) to the New England Board of Higher Education on Wednesday, May 18.

“I am honored to have been selected to serve on this distinguished board,” said Sen. Keim. “I look forward to continuing our New England collaboration. Our goal in this alliance is to find efficiencies and cost savings across the region to increase affordable education alternatives for our students.”

Founded in 1955, the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) works across the six New England States to promote greater educational opportunities and services by promoting regional cooperation, strengthening relationships between higher education institutions and initiating programs such as the Regional Student Program “Tuition Break,” which saves 8,958 New England students an average of $7,900 on tuition annually.

“I am confident that Senator Keim will do a terrific job advocating for Maine students on this board,” said Senate President Michael Thibodeau. “She is forward thinking and works hard every day to advance policies to benefit all Mainers.”
