AUGUSTA – On Sunday, May 21, Senator Kimberley Rosen (R-Hancock) attended an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Nicholas Prins of Bucksport and presented him with a Legislative Sentiment.

A member of Boy Scout Troop No. 102, Nicholas has attained the rank and distinction of Eagle Scout, the highest award in Boy Scouting which is given for excellence in skills development, leadership, personal growth and community service. For his project, Nicholas built a raised flower garden at the Bucksport Middle School.

“To be an Eagle Scout, you must demonstrate a high level of work ethic, responsibility, leadership ability and generosity at a relatively young age,” said Sen. Rosen. “It takes an enormous effort to acquire so many merit badges in so many different fields, and then to fulfill the community service requirement. Nick has accomplished all of this very ably.

“I was proud to recognize Nick for this terrific achievement. I admire the hard work and determination that it took him to reach this distinguished level.”
