FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUGUSTA – With the Second Regular Session of the 128th Legislature just around the corner, Senator Garrett Mason (R-Androscoggin) would like to once again invite all area students to join him at the State House for a day to serve as a page in the Maine Senate.
As a page, students have the opportunity to participate in a legislative session, delivering messages and distributing documents within the Senate Chamber.
“For young people who serve as pages, it’s both a learning experience and an opportunity to serve their fellow citizens,” Senator Mason said. “They help ensure things run smoothly when the legislature is in session, and at the same time learn about how bills become laws. I always enjoy meeting Maine students who come to the State House to be active participants in their government.”
The program, which lasts for one day’s session, is open for students from third grade through high school. The Legislature schedules pages for each session day, which begins on Wednesday, January 3 and will conclude on April 18.
For more information, please contact Senator Mason’s office at 207-287-1505.
