Senator Scott Cyrway to Serve on Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee

AUGUSTA – Maine State Senator Scott Cyrway (R-Kennebec) has been appointed to serve on the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee during the 129th Legislature. Cyrway previously served on this committee during the 127th Legislature.

He also previously chaired the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee and served as a member on the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee.

The Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee is responsible for veterans’ programs in Maine. It also oversees the Maine National Guard, state liquor and gaming operations, as well as voter registration and elections.

“I have always believed that caring for our veterans needs to be one of our top priorities as lawmakers, so I am honored to again have the opportunity to serve on this important committee,” said Cyrway. “It is also crucial to ensure that our elections are carried out in an orderly, transparent manner. I look forward to working with all members of the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee on the important work that is ahead of us.”

Senator Cyrway is serving his third term in the Maine Senate representing District 16 which includes the towns of Albion, Benton, Clinton, Fairfield, Unity Plantation, Waterville and Winslow.
