FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUGUSTA – Senator Stacey Guerin (R-Penobscot) has been appointed to serve on two new committees, the Joint Standing Committee on Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement and Business and the Joint Standing Committee on Labor and Housing.
“While I had hoped these two important committees would remain as one, with businesses and labor (employees) before the same committee, I am glad to have the opportunity to serve on both,” said Guerin. “As a small business owner myself, I thoroughly understand just how important businesses are for our communities and economy. I also understand the value employees bring to their employers. I look forward to bringing my real-world knowledge to these committees as we look to stimulate Maine’s economy.”
Prior to her service in the Senate, Guerin served District 102 in the Maine House of Representatives and served as a member of the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee and as the Republican Lead on the Judiciary Committee.
Senator Guerin and her husband own a family-run small business in Veazie. Guerin represents District 10 in the Maine Senate which includes the municipalities of Carmel, Corinna, Corinth, Dixmont, Etna, Exeter, Glenburn, Hampden, Hudson, Kenduskeag, Levant, Newburgh, Newport, Plymouth and Stetson.
