(December 21, 2020) – Senator Scott Cyrway has been reappointed to serve as the lead Republican senator on the Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety. Senator Cyrway brings to this role three decades of law enforcement experience as a Kennebec County Deputy Sheriff.
Cyrway will also lead Republicans on the Joint Standing Committee on Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement and Business. With the growth in the Waterville area spurred by the major revitalization of the downtown district and major investments by Colby College, serving on this committee will be a very important role. Sen. Cyrway’s experience in real estate, insurance, and farming will be of value to the committee.
In November, the Senator was reelected to his third term representing District 16, which includes Albion, Benton, Clinton, Fairfield, Unity Twp., Waterville, and Winslow.
