AUGUSTA- On Tuesday, January 24, Senator Roger Katz (R-Kennebec) presided over an empty Senate Chamber as Senate President Pro Tempore during the snow storm in his Cony High School shirt, keeping the Senate on track in spite of the treacherous roads that kept the rest of the members away from the State Capitol. “It was a great honor to take the gavel for the day to ensure that Senate business remained uninterrupted by the winter storm,” said Sen. Katz. “Under the circumstances, I decided to be the first Senator ever to preside in a Cony sweatshirt!”
