AUGUSTA – On Tuesday, June 13, Sen. Rod Whittemore (R-Somerset) and Rep. Brad Farrin (R-Norridgewock) presented the Secretary of State’s Eighth Grade Citizenship Award to Madison Junior High School student Ethan Stone. The award recognizes one eighth-grade student from each Maine school who demonstrates the qualities of active participation in civic or community activities, good scholarship and school involvement.

“Ethan Stone is undoubtedly deserving of this recognition,” said Sen. Whittemore. “He is very motivated and involved with his school and his community. His teachers describe him as responsible, friendly and an extremely industrious worker, and his outstanding attitude really makes him well-liked by others. He truly represents Madison’s core values well.”
