AUGUSTA – Maine State Senator Eric Brakey (R-Androscoggin) has announced local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) Work Plan for Calendar Years 2018, 2019 and 2020. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,262 projects across the state.
It includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, more than $1.1 billion in highway and bridge projects, and more than $296 million in multimodal capital projects.
Among the major projects in Senate District 20 include highway reconstruction in Auburn, as well as runway improvements at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport. Also planned are drainage improvements and highway paving in Mechanic Falls, culvert replacement in Poland, and bridge repair in New Gloucester.
“I would like to thank the MDOT for announcing their priorities for the next few years,” Senator Brakey said. “These projects are vitally important to the citizens of Senate District 20 who need to know how their tax dollars are being spent. I look forward to seeing the progress on these projects over the next few years.”
