AUGUSTA– Senator Joyce Maker (R-Washington) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2018, 2019 and 2020. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,262 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, more than $1.1 billion in highway and bridge projects and more than $296 million in multimodal capital projects.
Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 6 include bridge replacement on the Ridge Road in Addison, highway paving along Route 9 in many towns, highway construction and bridge replacement on North Maine St in Cherryfield and paving along Route 6 in Codyville Plt, Lambert Lake Twp, Vanceboro and Topsfield.
“It is very encouraging to see that the Department of Transportation plans to commit so many resources to improving the roadways and infrastructure in Washington County,” said Sen. Maker. “Safe travel along our roads, bridges and at our airports should always be a top priority, and I look forward to seeing the progress on these projects.”
