Senate Republican Office
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUGUSTA – Senator Andre Cushing (R-Penobscot) has been appointed to serve as a Penobscot County Commissioner, effective upon swearing in. He will serve for the remainder of the late Tom Davis’s term.
“While I am honored to receive this appointment, I understand that Tom Davis left some incredibly big shoes to fill,” said Sen. Cushing. “Tom served the people of Penobscot County as a commissioner for 34 years and had a well-deserved reputation as a straight shooter who used common sense to dictate policy decisions rather than party labels. I intend to honor his memory and carry on his tradition of guarding taxpayer dollars from frivolous spending.”
Senator Cushing will be sworn in during the coming week, at which time he will resign from his position as state senator for District 10.
