Senate Republican Office
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUGUSTA – Maine State Senator Robert Foley (R-York) has been appointed to serve on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee and the Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee during the 129th Legislature.
Senator Foley is currently serving his first term in the Maine Senate after serving two consecutive terms representing District 7 in the Maine House of Representatives. While serving in the House, Foley served on the defunct Insurance and Financial Services Committee.
“One of the top issues I heard as I went door-to-door last year was that folks are having trouble finding affordable health coverage,” Foley said. “I look forward to using my 40 years of experience within the insurance industry to find financially-responsible solutions to bring the cost down for all Mainers. Regardless of party affiliation, I know we can all agree that affordable health insurance should be within reach for all Maine families looking for coverage.
“I also look forward to serving on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee. Clean air, clean water and pristine wilderness sets Maine apart and is part of the reason we are known as ‘vacationland’. Our environmental health plays a big role in Maine’s economy and the high quality of life here. I am glad to have the opportunity to serve on this important committee.”
Prior to serving in the legislature, Foley served on the Board of Environmental Protection as Chair.
Senator Foley represents District 34 which includes Acton, Kennebunk, Lebanon, North Berwick, Wells and part of Berwick.
