AUGUSTA – State Senator Brad Farrin (R-Somerset) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.44 billion and encompasses 2,193 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, nearly $1.2 billion in highway and bridge projects and nearly $297 million in multimodal capital projects.
Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 3 are bridge replacement and repair in Anson, Canaan, New Portland, Pittsfield and the West Forks; safety improvements at Newton Field Airport in Jackman; and extensive highway paving along Rt. 201 in Moscow, Skowhegan, Jackman and Moose River.
“It is encouraging to hear about this much-needed infrastructure work around Somerset County,” Senator Farrin said. “I look forward to seeing the progress on these projects.”
