Senator Marianne Moore Announces Local Projects Included in Maine DOT Work Plan

AUGUSTA – State Senator Marianne Moore (R-Washington) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.44 billion and encompasses 2,193 projects across the state.

The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, nearly $1.2 billion in highway and bridge projects and nearly $297 million in multimodal capital projects.

Some of the major projects planned in Senate District 6 include highway paving along Rt. 9 in Alexander, Baileyville, Baring Plt. and Crawford; highway paving along Rt. 1 in Baileyville, Indian Twp. Res. and Princeton; highway construction/rehabilitation along Rt. 6 in Codyville Plt. and Topsfield; highway construction/rehabilitation on Rt. 1 in East Machias; and safety and infrastructure improvements at Eastport Municipal Airport.

“It is very encouraging to see the projects the Department of Transportation has in store for Washington County,” said Sen. Moore. “Rural Maine needs to have reliable roads, bridges and airports to stay connected. These projects will help achieve those needs.”
