Senator Russell Black Announces Local Projects in Maine DOT Work Plan

AUGUSTA – State Senator Russell Black (R-Franklin) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.44 billion and encompasses 2,193 projects across the state.

The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, nearly $1.2 billion in highway and bridge projects and nearly $297 million in multimodal capital projects.

Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 17 are bridge replacements in Avon, Byron, Farmington, Wilton and Jay; highway paving in Carrabassett Valley, Kingfield, Chesterville, Fayette and Farmington; sidewalk improvements in Rangeley; and substantial highway construction/rehabilitation on Rt. 4 in Madrid Township and Phillips.

“These projects are vital to not only our safety, but also our economic success,” said Sen. Black. “I am encouraged to see all of the projects MDOT has planned for the next three years in Franklin and Kennebec counties.”
