AUGUSTA – Maine State Senator Stacey Guerin (R-Penobscot) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.44 billion and encompasses 2,193 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, nearly $1.2 billion in highway and bridge projects and nearly $297 million in multimodal capital projects.
Major projects planned for Senate District 10 include highway paving on Rt. 69 in Carmel, Etna and Plymouth; bridge maintenance on Rt. 222 and West Corinth Rd. in Corinth; highway reconstruction on Route 1A in Hampden; and numerous bridge replacements on I-95 in Hampden.
“Maintaining high quality roads and infrastructure is a critical component to attract new employers to the area,” said Sen. Guerin. “I am encouraged to see all of the work the Department of Transportation has in store for Penobscot County.”
