AUGUSTA – Vern Maxfield, Town Manager of Woodstock, testified in support of Senator Lisa Keim’s (R-Oxford) bill, LD 1326, “An Act To Expand Eligibility for the Veterans’ Property Tax Exemption,” before the Legislature’s Taxation Committee on Wednesday, April 24. The bill, submitted at his request, would expand eligibility for the Veterans’ Property Tax Exemption, to allow persons who served during the period from Feb. 1, 1955 to Feb. 27, 1961 to qualify for the tax exemption based on dates of service.
