Augusta – Senator David Woodsome (R-York) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2018, 2019 and 2020. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,262 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, more than $1.1 billion in highway and bridge projects and more than $296 million in multimodal capital projects.
Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 33 include safety and infrastructure improvements at the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport, highway construction and improvements along Route 109 in Sanford, culvert replacement on West Road in Waterboro and paving and drainage maintenance on Elm Street in Parsonsfield.
“I believe that maintaining our infrastructure is one of the most important functions of state government,” Senator Woodsome said. “I would like to thank the Department of Transportation for prioritizing these projects that are vital to our safety and our economic success in York County.”
