AUGUSTA – Maine State Senator Kim Rosen (R-Hancock) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.44 billion and encompasses 2,193 projects across the state.
The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, nearly $1.2 billion in highway and bridge projects and nearly $297 million in multimodal capital projects.
Projects scheduled for Senate District 8 include highway paving along Rt. 15 and Rt. 1 in Bucksport and Rt. 1 in Orland; rehabilitation of the Bucksport Town Marina; bridge replacement on Wilson St. in Brewer; and highway paving and improvements on Rt. 15 in Brewer.
Senator Rosen, a former member of the Legislature’s Transportation Committee, said, “I would like to commend the MDOT for announcing their plans for work throughout the senate district. A sound infrastructure is so important to our safety and economic development, and I look forward to monitoring the progress of these projects over the next few years.”
