FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUGUSTA – Maine State Senator Scott Cyrway (R-Kennebec) has announced local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) Work Plan for Calendar Years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.44 billion and encompasses 2,193 projects across the state.

The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, nearly $1.2 billion in highway and bridge projects and nearly $297 million in multimodal capital projects.

Projects scheduled for Senate District 16 include highway paving between Rt. 139 and Rt. 11 in Benton and Clinton; pavement resurfacing on Rt. 139 in Benton and Unity Twp.; improvements to the intersection of Oak St., Pleasant St. and Heath St. on Rt. 137 in Oakland; and highway improvements in the downtown area of Waterville.

“Thanks to MDOT for publishing their schedule,” Senator Cyrway said. “These projects are so important and affect so many people in Senate District 16, so it’s good to know what the department has chosen to prioritize.”

The full work plan, including an interactive plan that is searchable by municipality, can be accessed on the Maine Department of Transportation’s website at: http://www.maine.gov/mdot.
