Government Oversight
Senator Jeff Timberlake is serving his third term in the Maine State Senate representing the people of District 17. Formerly District 22, the newly reapportioned district includes eight municipalities in Androscoggin County along with the Kennebec communities of Fayette and Litchfield.
Sen. Timberlake, who served in prior leadership roles as the Senate Republican Leader and Assistant Republican Leader in the 130th and 129th legislatures respectively, previously served on the Government Oversight Committee.
Prior to his Senate service, Sen. Timberlake served District 75 in the Maine House of Representatives for four consecutive terms. During his time there, he served on the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee, the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee, and the Maine Economic Development Committee in 2012. A resident of Turner, Sen. Timberlake is a co-owner of his family’s farm; and he and his family own multiple businesses in the area.
He is a graduate of Leavitt Area High School and Central Maine Community College in Auburn, where he specialized in Automotive Technology and Diesel Mechanics and an earned his Associate in Business Management.
In addition to his decades of farming, Sen. Timberlake served as a firefighter for the Town of Turner for 37 years. He was chair of the Turner Planning Board for 16 years and vice chair of the Board of Selectmen for two years. He is a Freemason and Shriner with the Kora Temple in Lewiston and Nezinscot Masonic Lodge in Turner and a member of the Turner Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club.
His lives with his spouse of 45 years, Joline, and together they have one child and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, hunting and fishing with his grandchildren.
