Sen. Richard Bradstreet of Vassalboro is serving his first term representing Senate District 15, which includes the City of Augusta and surrounding towns of Belgrade, China, Sidney, Vassalboro and Mount Vernon. Previously, he served four terms in the House of Representatives representing House District 61.
While in the House, he served on both the 131st Legislature’s Joint Standing Committees on Labor and Housing and the Select Committee on Housing. In previous terms, Sen. Bradstreet served on the Judiciary Committee and the Labor and Housing Committee.
He graduated from Lawrence High School and went on to earn a degree in 1973 from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He retired from his career as owner/operator of Bradstreet Homes, which was a manufactured and modular home retailer.
He currently serves on the Budget Committee for the Town of Vassalboro. He is a former executive director of a housing association and former board chair for then-Winslow Community Federal Credit Union, now known as Connected Credit Union. Sen. Bradstreet is also a former chair of the school board for SAD 49.
He lives in Vassalboro with his wife, JoAnne, and they have three children and seven grandchildren. In his spare time, Sen. Bradstreet enjoys reading, traveling and watching sports.
