AUGUSTA – On Thursday, March 16, Reverend Sara Gavit of Calais served as Pastor of the Day, delivering the opening prayer in the Maine State Senate.

Reverend Gavit presides over services at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church in Calais, where she has led the congregation since March of 2016. A Nebraska native, Rev. Gavit studied at St. John’s University School of Theology in Minnesota.

“It was certainly a pleasure to have Rev. Gavit travel all the way to Augusta just to start our session with her thoughts and prayers for all of us, our families and our staff. I was grateful to have a familiar face from home in the crowd.”
