AUGUSTA –  On Thursday, March 30, middle school students from Downeast Discipleship Academy in Machias visited the State House, serving as Honorary Pages in the Maine Senate. During their visit, they met with their local legislators, Senator Joyce Maker (R-Washington) and Representative William Tuell (R-East Machias).

“I am glad to have had the opportunity to meet with these students from Machias,” said Sen. Maker.  “It’s great that they had the opportunity to travel all the way to Augusta to learn more about our state government.”

For more information on how to serve as an honorary page for a day, call the Office of the Senate Secretary at 287-1540 or 800-423-6900.
