AUGUSTA – On Thursday, April 20, Senator Roger Katz (R-Augusta) met with two members of Boy Scout Troop No. 401, Matthew Cote and Aaron Young of Sidney, to congratulate them on attaining the high rank and distinction of Eagle Scout. During their visit, both scouts were presented with legislative sentiments honoring their achievements.

Eagle Scout is the highest award in Boy Scouting and is given for excellence in skills development, leadership, personal growth and community service.

For his Eagle Scout project, Aaron coordinated the reconstruction of the baseball field and installation of a new backstop at the James H. Bean School in Sidney. Matthew built and restored flower pots and constructed a walkway for persons with disabilities at Saint Augustine Catholic Church.
