FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PORTLAND – On Saturday, January 20, Assistant Majority Leader Amy Volk (R-Cumberland) met with a group of medical professionals affiliated with Martin’s Point to discuss their perspectives on Medicaid Expansion.
Sen. Volk said, “We had a lively discussion and agreed that our health care system is too expensive and often ineffective and inefficient, with too many gaps.
“We discussed some of the conservative principles that have been included in expansion around the country in other states, as well as the Trump administration’s recent permission to require community engagement in the form of work, education, job training or volunteering.”
She finished her visit with a tour of the beautiful new facility which she had not yet visited.
