(AUGUSTA, ME) – State Senator Brad Farrin and State Representative Kevin O’Connell are pleased to reintroduce their colleagues and the public to the Maine Veterans Caucus in the State Legislature.
They welcome all current Legislators who are also veterans to join and help influence public policy on behalf of their fellow service men and women including members of the Maine Air and Army National Guard.
The Maine Veteran’s Caucus is a bipartisan, issues-based caucus created to focus on legislation and current issues related to veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
Their first meeting was held Tuesday, February 23 and they meet via Zoom weekly. In addition to discussing bills before the legislature that impact Veteran’s and various departments and organizations that deal with veterans and members of the Armed Forces, they are also hearing from heads of those departments and organizations.
For example, Maine Adjutant General Farnham is speaking to the caucus on Tuesday, March 9.
Next Tuesday (3/16), they will be hearing from Col. Kelley Kash, CEO of Maine Veterans Homes.
