Senator Robert Foley is serving his first term in the Maine State Senate. He represents the people of Senate District 34, which consists of Acton, Kennebunk, Lebanon, North Berwick, Wells and part of Berwick.
Senator Foley currently serves on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee and the Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee.
Prior to being elected to the Senate, Senator Foley served the people of House District 7 for two consecutive terms. While in the House, he served on the Insurance and Financial Affairs Committee.
Senator Foley has been employed in the insurance industry for 40 years. He is a partner at Cole Harrison Agency in Kennebunk and has been a Certified Insurance Counselor since 2002. Bob earned his B.S. in Political Science/Public Policy from the University of Southern Maine in 2000.
At the local level, Bob served on the Wells Board of Selectmen for 15 years and served eight years as Chairman. He has also served on several boards for the Town of Wells including the Charter Commission, Comprehensive Planning Committee and the Harbor Advisory Committee. He was a member and past President of the Wells Rotary Club for 30 years and has served on a number of environmental boards and committees, including the State Board of Environmental Protection and was Chair for two years. He is the founder of Save Our Shores Maine and the Maine Coastal Coalition, and He also served on the York Hospital Board of Trustees for six years.
Bob and his wife Maryanne are members of St. Mary’s Church in Wells. They have two sons, Patrick and Peter.
