From the Maine Municipal Association

On March 17, the Maine Legislature enacted emergency legislation that affected municipal governments in several ways, including holding 2020 town meetings and how to conduct municipal affairs during these difficult times. Today, MMA’s Legal Services Department updated its guidance to members as a result of this, addressing changes in conducting town meetings, canceling secret ballot elections, spending money and in other areas.
