From the Maine Municipal Association

On Tuesday, March 17, the Maine State Legislature enacted several pieces of legislation providing state and local governments with the authority necessary to address COVID-19 (coronavirus) related issues, and then it adjourned. Some of the issues affected were of paramount importance to municipalities during this difficult period, including spending authority, postponing town meetings, remote meeting participation and canceling secret ballot elections.
