AUGUSTA – Maine State Senator Kim Rosen (R-Hancock) has announced local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) Work Plan for Calendar Years 2018, 2019 and 2020. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,262 projects across the state.
The plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, more than $1.1 billion in highway and bridge projects, and more than $296 million in multimodal capital projects.
Among the major projects in Senate District 8 include two projects on Route 15 in Bucksport and Orrington and two others on Route 1 in Verona Island and Stockton Springs. The projects have all been awarded to Lane Construction and will begin on Tuesday, May 29 on Route 1 in Stockton Springs.
Work will include pavement improvements and guardrail replacement, costing approximately $1.6 million.
“As a long time Senate member on the Legislature’s Transportation Committee, I am happy to announce these DOT infrastructure projects in our area,” said Sen. Rosen. “A sound infrastructure is so important to our safety and economic development, and I look forward to monitoring the progress of these projects over the summer.”
